Highlights from Cornwall CPG

Posted on 12th January, 2017

Truro 100 years

In October the Cornwall CPG not only hosted a very successful Organ Donation Award ceremony in our Truro Unit involving the Lord Lieutenant, Col Edward Bolitho but also held the annual service of Thanksgiving and Rededication led by our Chaplain, Canon Peter Walker at Truro Methodist Church. The service was supported by the Chairman of Cornwall Council and the Deputy Mayor of Truro.
This occasion allowed the presentation of numerous awards for volunteers by our County President, Major Charles Edward-Collins. Among the highlights was the award of a 100-year certificate for Truro Unit and a number of Service medals, bars and an Oak Leaf to volunteers from across the County.

Cornwall CPG continues to meet regularly but sadly, earlier in 2016 the group lost its longstanding Hospital representative, Tim Parr who died suddenly aged 89 years. He will be missed greatly.
